At Sandy Meadow Farm , we have developed a style of training that builds a relationship based on respect and trust between you and your dog. We pride ourselves on our ability to help YOU train a confidant and reliable pet through fair, friendly exercises developed specifically for home companion dogs. Our trainers come from a wide variety of dog related backgrounds, including breed handling, competition obedience, service dog training, dock diving, freestyle dancing, agility, therapy training, grooming, boarding, herding, and trick training, resulting in a remarkable training program that is user friendly and easily applied.
We offer a wide variety of family friendly classes including Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Companion and Manners, Better Manners, Intermediate Competition, Advanced Companion, and Advance Competition. We also offer specialty classes in Trick Training, Canine Good Citizen, Adult Facility Therapy Dog Training, Pediatric Therapy Dog Training, Social Strugglers, Courageous Canine, Shaping Skills, and Dancing Dogs. Both evening and Saturday classes are offered to accomodate even the busiest schedules quite easily.
Located on a working farm in Western Massachusetts, the training facility, built in 1995, is easily accessible from the Mass Pike, Interstate 91, and routes 10, 202, 20 and 187. The training center was built to accommodate 1 class at a time to minimize distractions and maximize focus during the early phases of training. The facility is both heated and air conditioned to allow for a comfortable training environment for both the handlers and the dogs year round.
